A lot of Bay State pols would have loved to have been in Jaclyn Cashman’s shoes yesterday.
The Boston Herald Radio “Morning Meeting” talk host had the pleasure of dumping a bucket of ice water over the head of Howie Carr.
He accepted the ice bucket challenge to help spread the word about ALS. Carr stood tall and did his part.
He completed the challenge in front of M.J. O’Connor’s across the street from the Herald’s Seaport offices.
Dressed in sandals, shorts and a T-shirt, Carr took quite a dousing — then went off in search of a towel.
The ice bucket challenge has helped raise $100 million toward ALS research and has helped as well to raise awareness of the deadly disease for which there is no cure.
ALS, commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease, affects 30,000 people in the U.S. with 5,600 new cases diagnosed annually.
