Apparently, you can smell an Ivanka Trump supporter from a mile away.
Females frustrated with the boycott against the president’s oldest daughter are fighting back by purchasing her perfume in volumes, making it the most popular fragrance on Amazon for almost a week.
It’s a perfect example of shoppers who don’t like to be told what to do. The social media movement #grabyourwallet might have forced large retailers to dump Ivanka’s apparel and fragrance line, but apparently her brand is still very much in demand.
The “resistance economy” clearly works both ways. Liberals might be louder, but conservatives are making their voices known by digging deep into their pockets.
One reviewer wrote, “Bought this perfume when all the anti-Ivanka stuff started. The bottle is ‘yuge’ and smells very nice. My husband immediately asked what I was wearing because he said he didn’t like the other perfume I bought. Nice lighter fragrance excellent for everyday use.”
Another reviewer stated, “Amazing! Smells great. Get many compliments and questions on what it is and where I got it! Plus I am supporting President Trump and his family! Make America Great again!”
The sweet smell of success must be pretty sweet for the first daughter as her Eau de Parfum Spray boasts a nearly perfect score on Amazon from verified reviewers.
The owner of Amazon, Jeff Bezos — who also owns the Washington Post — has famously feuded with candidate Trump over the last year. They decided to smooth things over recently when leaders in the tech industry visited Trump Tower. So far, Bezos has refused to cave to pressures by these e-commerce crazies.
But if Bezos has a change of heart, President Trump might fulfill his campaign promise when he said, “And believe me, if I become president, oh, do they have problems. They’re going to have such problems.”
Trump claimed, “Amazon is getting away with murder, tax-wise.”
The president has no problem slamming a company for treating his daughter unfairly. After Nordstrom stopped selling Ivanka’s products due to alleged slumping sales he went to Twitter, “My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom. She is a great person — always pushing me to do the right thing! Terrible!”
Bezos should expect a much stronger reaction from the president if the perfume is no longer available on Amazon.
