Republican presidential hopefuls are making the rounds in New Hampshire this weekend at a GOP summit — yet their likely Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton, has not answered ONE question from the media since announcing her candidacy a week ago.
Clinton doesn’t plan on holding a big rally or delivering a major speech until sometime in May.
Boston Herald Radio held court with many of the Republican potential candidates at yesterday’s First In The Nation Republican Leadership Summit (FITN) in Nashua, N.H. — and Clinton was on the agenda.
Former New York Gov. George Pataki, who is mulling a 2016 run, told me Hillary “appears not to like the true art of campaigning. I think she dislikes it intensely.”
U.S. Sen. Lindsey Graham added, “It is a joke. Seeing someone in a van is not exactly a political engagement.”
As Clinton dodges the media, her campaign has been caught setting up staged events with “average” voters that turn out to be Democratic political insiders. There seems to be nothing authentic about her campaign launch, especially the image of Clinton that they are trying to portray.
Former Massachusetts U.S. Senator Scott Brown pointed out on “Morning Meeting,” no one’s buying Clinton’s latest makeover.
“She needs to be who she is and stop putting on an act saying that she’s someone different. We all know that’s just an act — she’s trying to say, ‘Oh, here I am, I’m one of you.’ ” Brown said.
The media should stop covering her fake roundtable discussions and staged events and teach her campaign a lesson. Stop chasing the Scooby van. If she doesn’t have to work for the party’s nomination, make her at least fight for coverage.
